 I. Internal Revenue Service
 
 This publication discusses special tax rules for U.S. citizens and resident aliens who work abroad or who have income earned in foreign countries.
 
 If you would like to know the status of your federal tax refund requested on your recent tax return, after eight months form the time you filed the return, Click here with your tax return in hand.
 
At this link to the IRS you can find Publication 17, Your Personal Federal Income Tax, and a link to other IRS publications.
 
This is a good location at which you can get a great deal of information about US taxation of businesses, corporations and tax exempt organizations as well as many other subjects that may be of interest to you.
 
II.  Israel Tax Authority
This is the main internet link to the Israeli tax authorities (in English). At this location you can read recent tax announcements and news releases. From here you can also navigate to many other Israeli tax departments including VAT, Not for Profit Organizations, the Knesset and information for the individual taxpayer as well as certain foreign tax, industry and tariff departments around the world. If you wish to make tax payments by credit card, you will have to go to the Hebrew site; you can navigate there directly from the English site.
 
III. U.S. Social Security 
At this location you may fill out a request for a quote of your anticipated retirement benefits to be sent to you by mail in about 6-8 weeks. Make sure you have your social security number at hand or know it by heart.
 
While you are working, your earnings will reduce your benefit amount only until you reach your full retirement age. Get more facts and figures at this link.
 
 This link is to the official website of the U.S. Social Security Administration. At this site you can also subscribe to receive periodic newsletters by email from the Social Security Administration.

V. Bank of Israel
Search for the Bank of Israel official currency exchange rates of today and historically. There you can find exchange rates in English or Hebrew. You can subscribe to receive daily exchange rate updates by email. At this site you can also link to other announcments of the Bank of Israel.
 
VI. U.S. Consulate
 in Jerusalem or Tel Aviv 
You now have to make an appointment in advance for most US Consulate and Embassy services (except for social security). Do not go there without first making an appointment. 

The Social Security/Federal Benefits schedule for serving the public is from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday through Friday. They are closed on Sunday, Monday and national holidays in the USA. People seeking service from this unit should not require appointments. Nevertheless, it would be worth a phone call to confirm consular availability since changes in scheduling are frequent.
